What we learned this summer -- Trust and integrity are precious resources, easily squandered. And our First Selectman squandred them. Examples abound: Supporting a developer proposal for the third train station with the Fairfield County Business Journal coming out with a different factual version two days later. Replacing reqularily scheduled meetings with "special" meetings. The purpose of course was to make sure people would not be prepared. Fancy footwork of bonding recurring expenses so things would not look any worse than the 6.5% tax increase we already have. Poking Chief Felner, accusing Flatto of trying to hit him, using profanity in public meetings, ranting and raving in public, giving himself a 10% raise while holdin up Felner's contract, doing a strutt around every public meeting ignoring the speakers and creating a ruckus, yelling at and intimidating anyone he can.... The list goes on and on ..... Yes we learned a lot about John Metsopolous this summer. And now we know we do not want him for our First Selectman!
